ST. PAUL'S WEEKLY                                                                                                  February 4/5, 2012

St. Paul’s Variety Show: Sunday, March 18th, a potluck meal at Noon with entertainment to follow.  Do you have a favorite song you would like to sing, an instrumental solo, duet, etc?  A comedy routine, a magic trick or two?  Please talk with Pastor Albrecht.  Plan to attend and enjoy some of the many talents God has given to his people here at St. Paul’s.

Lent Begins Soon: On Ash Wednesday, February 22nd, we will have worship services with Holy Communion at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm. Lenten supper will be served at 5:30 pm.  (For the remaining 5 weeks of Lent, there is one service at 6:30 pm with supper at 5:30).

New Bible Study: A look at the Lutheran Confessions - statements of what Lutherans believe and teach.  We will consider the three Christian Creeds, the Small & Large Catechisms, and the Augsburg Confession.  The topic will be presented on Thursday mornings at 9:30 am and Sunday mornings at 9:15 am starting February 9th/12th.

Organ Dedication & Recital: The members of Bethel Lutheran Church of Menasha invite you to join us in praising God for our newly renovated pipe organ. The instrument will be dedicated to the glory of God on Sunday, February 12 in both the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. services. Lawrence Marowsky, the WELS organ builder who worked on the project, will be our guest organist. Lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. After the meal, guests will have a chance to “tour” the organ and hear an explanation of its inner workings. A recital will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Phillip Otto, a WELS organist from Fond du Lac, occupying the bench; after the recital, other organists will be invited to try out the instrument. For more information or to RSVP for lunch email info@bethelmenasha.org.

Recovery Through Christ: Recovery Through Christ is a Christian 12 Step program for men and women who are struggling with addictions.  It meets Fridays from 7-8 pm at Mount Olive in Appleton (930 E Florida Ave).  Peace Through Christ, a group for those who have a loved one struggling with an addiction, meets at the same time and place.  For more information, contact the church office.  Come and find support in your time of need.

LWMS News: The 49th annual Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society Convention will be held in Winston/Salem, North Carolina June 21-24, 2012.  There is information about a bus trip to the convention, and convention registration forms on the LWMS bulletin board across from the mail boxes.  Detailed information about the convention is available at www.lwms.org  If you plan to attend hotel reservations should be made soon. The LWMS Spring Rally will be on April 28th, 2012 at Martin Luther Church, Oshkosh.  Since it is so close to where we live I hope many of you will consider attending.  If you would like information about LWMS contact Cathy Lemke.

New Member Welcome Lunch: On February 26th, after our late service, down stairs in the dining area, we will welcome new members to our congregation.  This will be a potluck luncheon. There are signup sheets in the Media room for hot dishes, salads and desserts.  This will be a nice afternoon to be with our Christian family.

Fellowship Supper: Our next fellowship pot-luck is set for Saturday, February 11th at 5:30 pm. Please bring a dish to share.  Tableware and beverages will be provided.  After the meal, we can plan on a game or two of cribbage for anyone who would like to.

Dartball: Martin Luther Neenah will play here against Winneconne Team 1 at 7:30 pm and Winneconne Team 2 plays at Trinity at 7:30 pm.
